Tony is there any way to check my hard drive to see if it’s a hybrid drive? I have been searching without much success. But I may be asking the wrong question.

Go to your system BIOS and check the model number of the hard drive. Then lookup the model number on the manufacturer’s website. There’s no way to know for sure unless the manufacturer discloses the information.

Hi I’m working with debian 10 buster with btrfs and timeshift is working excellent through the gui.
I’m trying to restore from the terminal command line INCLUDING the /home snapshot and i only get to restore the root without the /home snapshot. what am i missing? what is the right syntax to include the /home snapshot like it does on the gui?
I’m trying to make my debian do a full snapshot restore on every startup so my computer will always startup exactly the same.

Hello,
I’m trying out TimeShift, and it looks great. However, it does not appear to be creating snapshots at the intervals I’ve selected. I chose ‘daily’ with a max of 5. After several days, it has created 4 snapshots, then stopped. A few questions:
1. Does it overwrite old snapshots or do I need to delete them?
2. When I invoke it from the GUI, I’m in ‘Live USB mode’ and cannot create snapshots. It seems I can only get into the mode where I can create snapshots if I reboot…what am I doing wrong?
–> I was assuming TimeShift would create snapshots periodically and simply delete the old snapshots. Is there a way to get it to do that?
Thanks.
